Would you recommend removing all the paper and then calling an exterminator. It has shiny silver skin like a fish. Unfortunately these pests are nocturnal. As the silverfish walk across or into the insulation the boric acid sticks to their bodies.

Coat index cards with the paste allow it to dry and use as sticky traps. I read online that they are not of any health concern so maybe i should just forget about it. Silverfish like to live in dark secluded areas around your home that are close to their food sources. You may find camel crickets cheerfully living in your crawl space but silverfish would much rather live in the house.

What would you do. The silverfish ingest the boric acid when they groom themselves or eat the insulation which causes them to die. Be sure to put it out of reach of children or pets. If you ve never been introduced to the household pest known as the silverfish it gets its name because it looks and moves a little bit like a silver fish.

Make a paste of flour water and boric acid. Since insulation is found in the attic generally one of the least trafficked spaces in the home it can certainly become home to these and other pests.
